Road Report June 9/08 - Al Verishine

Kitwanga to Bell 2 – Very good

Bell 2 to Dease Lake – Gravel section by Iskut River in good condition

Dease Lake to Juntion 37 – Gravel section north of Dease Lake very good. Road surface is very good to Good Hope Lake Lodge sign. There is some road re-surfacing taking place around km 620-635.

Road surface goes away about 20kms short of the Junction 37. Very bad frost heaves and broken chip seal. These sections should be approached very slowly and carefully. Drivers will have to pick their way through the frost heaves. There are short distances of this road condition right to the Junction. Please be careful.

As a laptop user on the road, and a newby to your site, I’ve been trying to reach your webmaster to comment on the choice of graphics/colors used. The site is technically very good and the use of Harley black and orange is striking, however, ghosted gray on black is hard to pick out and to read. What with daylight conditions with the laptop, screen reflection and possibly tired eyes, it’s difficult to determine what is offered. Personally, I would like to see all text that is presently in ghosty gray, several shades lighter, therefor brighter. The font size would be fine if it were visible.

The menu choices are excellent, content good and the whole setup is user friendly. (what I can see of it)
